Kick-off Meeting

On Monday, 22 January 2024, the PROTEMO consortium met at Coimbra University to kick off its activities. The meeting brought together a consortium of seven academic institutions and one SME, spread across the European mainland and the UK.

The meeting opened with a warm welcome by our hosts, Lisete Mónico and Cristiano Gianolla from the University of Coimbra, and a round of introduction of all participants, followed by some helpful recommendations by our European Commission’s project officer, Paloma Martin, based at the Research and Executive Agency in Brussels and connected to the meeting via zoom.

The kick-off meeting allowed for a first joint in-person discussion on the project’s mission and its first steps of implementation. It included briefing sessions on all work packages for an in-depth understanding of each partner’s involvement and responsibilities, and facilitated conversations on PROTEMO’s five case studies and its methodologies. A clear focus was given on the division of work, the outputs schedule and stakeholder outreach to make the most out of PROTEMO’s results.

In the beautiful and inspiring surroundings of Coimbra University, there was also enough time and space for socialising and exchange for consortium partners.
